Global Information (GI) is responsible for the global financial reporting of the PwC Network of Firms. It comprises Client Information, Firm Information, Tax and Treasury services across a variety of information related Network initiatives. This role sits within the Client Information (CI) team.
The PwC Network operates in over 150 countries and generates US$ 30+bn of client revenues per annum from thousands of client groups. The Cl team defines, gathers, and reports PwC client revenue and financial information, adopting a proactive consulting approach with a variety of Network leaders including, Client Relationship Partners, Industry Leaders, Line of Service leaders, Business Development, Risk Management, Independence, Strategy, Legal to understand and address their information needs.
The CI systems, such as the Global Data Warehouse (GDW) and Global Client Portal (GCP) play a critical role in helping PwC business leaders across the Global Network achieve its strategic goals. This role is specific to the reporting activities from GDW and GCP and the data analysis that accompanies this.
About the role
The role will include the following responsibilities:
The Reporting Analyst will be responsible for monthly reporting activities and reporting development. The role will provide the opportunity to build a deep understanding of PwC, to work with senior stakeholders across the Network of Firms and work in a team with deep business and technical skills.
Global Data Warehouse and Global Client Portal:
• Develop a detailed understanding of the GDW and GCP, including attributes, metrics and reporting capabilities available. • Support users of the GDW and GCP systems and of client information, providing both formal and informal training as needed. • Gain a good understanding of the IT aspects of the systems so as to facilitate troubleshooting and to support future reporting developments. • Build and maintain close working relationships with PwC-IT in order to be fully aware of proposed systems developments affecting client systems. • Gain understanding of, maintain, and adhere to, ISO 27001 controls and procedures and support the development of the Information Security Management System (ISMS) in respect of the reporting aspects.
Reporting and Analysis:
• Develop run and oversee monthly/quarterly reporting activities for GDW and GCP ensuring that stakeholders receive consistent, accurate and relevant reports in accordance with the reporting timetable and SLAs. • Using data handling, programming and database skills to provide complex ad-hoc reporting and interpretation of results as required. Define and agree outputs and timelines with, to global stakeholders to support and enable business operational and strategic decisions. • Assesses the most efficient way to build and run reports, describing options and ensuring a sustainable approach. • Maintain well defined documentation of the complex systems, processes and procedures. • Provide reporting support to the GI Data Analytics team where appropriate.
Master Data Management / Source:
• Develop understanding of the Master Data Management (MDM) system SOURCE, the related systems (e.g. Central Entity Service, Dun & Bradstreet) and the relationship with GDW and GCP systems and data. • Develop an understanding of how data quality works across all systems (SOURCE, GDW, GCP) in order to report across systems. Relate this to month end reporting.
Systems Development and Implementation:
• Support line manager to identify system solutions / enhancements that are effective and fit for purpose, meeting the appropriate business needs. • Support line manager in requirement gathering • Develop and execute test plans
Customer Management:
• Take a proactive and consultative approach with GDW and GCP users to understand and deliver on their information needs and improve services they receive. • Identify and influence the choice of solutions ensuring deliverables are practical, commercially viable whilst meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Essential Skills:
• Business analysis, the ability to manipulate and interpret large datasets to translate information requests into reporting. • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Access (including strong VBA), and database and data warehousing principles / practices. • In depth experience in the Microstrategy suite of tools • Proven background in analysis and statistical techniques • A high level of IT and systems knowledge. • Well organised, methodical, disciplined with strong attention to detail. • A confident decision-maker. • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and to drive them to completion. • Good communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to network and interact at all levels across Global networks where English is not always the first language • Ability to multi-task across several different projects and initiatives at any one time, to work flexibly and re-prioritise as the need arises. Project manage where needed • Good collaborative working skills - working as part of a busy team serving a wide and culturally diverse range of customers to very strict deadlines. • High level of commitment and enthusiasm, strong customer service ethic.
Desirable Skills:
• Previous experience in a finance / management information role would be preferable. • Understanding routes to market such as Business Units, Industry, Products and the Priority programmes.
