Our Global asset manager partner, who is establishing its new business service center in Budapest is hiring a Listed Derivatives Operations Team Lead. Their purpose is to help clients define and achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investment approaches, and exceptional service.
Your new roleLead a team of Trade Operations analysts responsible for the smooth and efficient execution of all trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes and products. The team’s responsibilities span the full operational lifecycle of listed and OTC derivative products. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate processing, strong controls, regulatory compliance, and effective issue resolution.You will act as an escalation point and a trusted partner to Trading, Portfolio Management, Risk, Compliance, Technology, and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Derivatives Operations team.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end lifecycle of derivatives, including:
- trade capture and affirmation
- confirmations
- lifecycle event processing
- margining and collateral
- settlements, cash flows, and expiries
- Provide subject matter expertise in listed derivatives.
- Partner with internal areas such as Trading, PM, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Technology.
- Support and lead operational improvement projects, including system and process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage operational risks and act as the main escalation point for issues.
- Maintain and improve operational procedures.
What You Need to Succeed
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, train, and develop a team of Derivatives Operations professionals while ensuring full coverage across all operational activities.
- Deep understanding of the end‑to‑end derivatives lifecycle, including trade affirmation and confirmation, trade capture, lifecycle event processing, margining, collateral management, settlements, cashflows, and expiries.
- Subject matter expertise in listed derivatives, providing guidance and technical support across the organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, acting as a primary contact for internal teams such as Trading, Portfolio Management, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Technology.
- Proven experience in operational change and process improvement, including supporting or leading projects, system enhancements, testing, and implementation efforts.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and policy requirements, ensuring compliance and representing the function confidently during audits and regulatory reviews.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external partners, and to effectively handle escalations or operational issues.
- Process‑driven mindset, with the ability to create, update, and maintain operational procedures while promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
