The BRS Tax Team
BRS Tax is part of the London Private Equity & Mergers & Acquisitions ('M&A;') tax team and forms a specialist unit providing quality service on corporate insolvencies, restructurings and transactions to private equity houses, the PwC Business Recovery practice and their clients.
The team is relatively small and enjoys a close and supportive environment. We take advantage of the diverse backgrounds of our staff who are specialists in a variety of fields for example, Restructurings, Insolvency, Private Equity, Pensions, Insurance and Corporate Simplification, with the focus on project work. This mix of skills combined with the large client base has resulted in BRS Tax generating healthy contributions to the M&A; team and overall Tax results.
About the role:
Working in the BRS Tax team is as rewarding as it is demanding. You will be given high levels of responsibility relatively early on and will soon find yourself working closely with clients as well as with external clients' lawyers and bankers. You will also work closely with other PricewaterhouseCoopers professionals from the M&A; team and other UK and non-UK tax teams.
As a member of the team you will play a variety of pivotal roles on restructurings and advisory projects. These opportunities arise on projects such as major financial restructurings, refinancing, corporate simplifications; pensions asset backed structuring projects or deals (acquisitions, disposals, flotation, de-mergers etc.).
Experience will also be gained on working on appointments (where PwC is appointed as the insolvency practitioner). Your task could be to help run the business as a going concern, facilitate a sale or help run the business off. The team also has a selection of going concern and run-off insurance clients in order to ensure both advisory and compliance skills are developed.
Such a variety of clients, deal types and sizes ensures that the experience you gain will be extremely wide, involving all aspects of tax as well as non-tax work. Working in BRS Tax will help you develop your professional, technical and managerial skills rapidly.

essential skills:
-Degree Qualified
-Professional Qualification: CTA or ACA or ACCA
-Significant working knowledge of financial restructuring, debt restructuring and M&A; transactions
-Proven client management/consulting skills
-Experience of supervising/managing other team members
-Developed communication skills, specifically in negotiating and influencing others
-Able to demonstrate an analytical and logical approach to their work
