Our Structured Finance Group (SFG) is a specialist team within PwC's Banking & Capital Markets (B&CM;) division, specialising in asset backed securitisation and structured finance.
We assist a wide range of clients, from those considering securitisations or structured finance transactions for the first time through to experienced repeat issuers, including some of the largest UK & Global Financial Services organisations.
Whilst part of our work relates to annual audit and reporting requirements associated with structured finance transactions, the majority of our work is on ad hoc, non-recurring assurance, transaction-related due diligence, accounting and advisory assignments. We provide diligence services on c30-40% of UK securitisation transactions each year and, since the start of the credit crunch, have worked closely with Government and regulators on a number of high profile projects.
We consider an important part of our role to be a driver in promoting a better understanding of the securitisation and structured finance industry, emphasising both the benefits and the potential pitfalls, as well as developing ideas as to the future direction of the industry. To achieve this we actively work with regulators and industry bodies across the world.
We are a small team and therefore have the dual benefit of a great atmosphere and the ability to leverage the wider firm. Our team has doubled in size in recent years and has plans to significantly grow further. As a result, we now seek additional skilled Managers / Senior Managers to join our team.
The roleAs a Manager / Senior Manager in the team, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients - managing relationships, scoping assignments, negotiating engagement terms, managing teams, challenging assumptions and communicating the output of our work to our clients.
Examples of the type of areas you will be involved in are:
• Transactions: managing different due diligence workstreams, liaising closely with our client, their legal advisers and the lead managers on the transaction;
• Audit: managing the audit of asset-backed finance companies, understanding complex structures, assessing the required level of audit evidence and managing a team to deliver the audit;
• Accounting advice: assessing the impact a proposed structure has on the accounting from the perspective of the seller and the acquirer;
• Advisory: scoping our work to address specific client issues or concerns, leveraging the knowledge of the team and the wider firm;
• Market profile: help the team to maintain and increase our profile in the market, developing relationships with clients and potential clients.
The SFG leadership team actively encourages members of the team to challenge themselves and to work across the range of services we provide.
RequirementsEssential skills:
• ACA qualification or equivalent
• Audit experience
• Strong client relationship management skills
• Strong communication skills, including report-writing
• Strong analytical skills
Desirable skills:
• Experience in structured finance or deals related advisory work
• Strong excel skills
