Job Category: EngineeringFollowing the growth in our Control Centre market we now require a Control Systems Project Manager to co-ordinate and manage the Control Systems portfolio of works. The role will cover all aspects of Control Systems Engineering including interfacing with internal and external clients. Our UK Systems teams operate as a turnkey unit and provide solutions not only to our internal projects but direct to external clients including our major customer Network Rail. The role is key to ensure accurate and timely information is communicated between the design, delivery and customer teams and has significant interface to our R&D; development teams.
Our growth has been fuelled by our innovative product solutions such as WESTCAD and WESTRONIC applications that cover Train control, SCADA and Automatic route setting systems. The team skills range from R&D; product development engineers through to Project Management and Project Engineering.
The position will offer a wide variety of work within a fast moving career environment for an individual who is keen to further their management skills
What are my responsibilities?
• Safe delivery of projects to specification meeting the project objectives within the agreed timescales and budget delivering the required margin, whilst ensuring that the Company Management System
• Interface with functional line management to define and mobilize the necessary resources required for the execution of the project
• Lead the implementation of effective Safety and Environmental management of the project ensuring that each of the project delivery functions has systems in place to cover their safety responsibilities
• Monitor contract progress against the project program and budget identifying and mitigating adverse trends through effective corrective management action. Monitor and report project progress and status throughout the project lifecycle ensuring timely and accurate reports are prepared as required by the Client and IRL in accordance with the Project Reporting and Review Process
• Responsibility for managing the Contractual Scope of Supply throughout the Project Lifecycle through the implementation of the Change Management Process and the approval of any changes to scope, base lined programs and budgets
• Ensure regular audits are undertaken to ensure that the systems are in use and are effective. Ensure the implementation of Quality Assurance throughout the Project Lifecycle
• Interface with the Sales and Marketing Team and, as required, manage the preparation of tenders. This shall include the development of project specific execution strategies designed to meet the client's needs and the IRL business objectives
What do I need to qualify for this job?
• Excellent customer management skills (essential)
• Member of a professional Project Management organisation (essential)
• Degree/HNC/HND in Engineering discipline
• Experience in control systems
