Private Client offering. We provide a wealth of services to clients based across Scotland and further afield, ranging from fast growing start-up companies to the largest privately owned/private equity backed businesses.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our Private Business Tax team based primarily in our Edinburgh office however it is also expected that a significant amount of time may also be spent in our Glasgow Office to support the team across the Central belt. There may also be periodic visits to other Regional PwC offices or client sites depending on our business needs.

About the role
The successful candidate will have obtained significant experience in working on M&A; and tax structuring transactions and will complement our existing resource in that arena. In addition, the candidate will have day to-day responsibility for managing on-going client relationships, winning and developing work across all aspects of tax as well as undertaking complex advisory projects.
The ability to manage a varied client portfolio and one off projects will be an essential part of your role which will also include responsibility for managing more junior members of staff in your team. You will provide your client with excellent tax advice on personal and business tax matters and will also be responsible for introducing other specialists and services as appropriate. You will be responsible for establishing effective working relationships with appropriate levels of client staff and maintaining these on-going client relationships. You will also be required to develop a strong working relationship with our Corporate Finance and Transactions Support teams.
As a senior manager, you will be part of client service and project teams. As such, managing both junior and more senior members of the relevant teams will be essential as well as developing your role within those teams, including being proactively involved in the financial management of projects and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget; contributing to the development of personal and team knowledge; building your own network of contacts through regular attendance at internal and external meetings; keeping up-to-date with proposed and actual changes in law and in the firm's products and services; keeping up-to-date with local and national business and economic issues that might potentially impact on clients and /or their industry.
The Scottish Private Business team offers the opportunity to work on a challenging and varied client portfolio. You will be given the opportunity to work closely with specialists in particular areas, including:- M&A; Transactions Support; Partnership tax planning/structuring; Stamp Duty; IHT Planning and Real Estate. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the tax aspects of M&A; transactions and due diligence as well as UK corporate, business and capital taxes, combined with the ability to provide a commercial tax service to our clients and to lead teams of highly motivated people.
