Our team supports the training and development needs of the UK Consulting practice. The successful applicant will be a part of a sub-team which has responsibility for designing and delivering blended learning programmes which are relevant to all Consultants regardless of their area of expertise.
This team is responsible for ensuring the ongoing delivery, quality and impact of a curriculum of established programmes. It is also involved in consulting around emerging business needs, designing new training programmes, and supporting client facing practitioners to embed a learning culture on the job. Members of the team work with business sponsors, client facing practitioners and subject matter specialists, other UK & Global L&D; teams, external tutors and vendors, to design and deliver impactful, and award winning programmes.
Participants on these programmes are from the full range of grades within the firm. The programmes are highly participative and range from 1 day classroom events to 12 week blended learning programmes incorporating learning elements such as interactive classroom events, self-study (including e-learning or mobile learning), workplace practice, written assignments, and peer to peer action learning groups. The competencies covered in the curriculum range from leadership, communication and relationship skills through to more technical aspects such as business perspectives and data analysis.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing quality and impact of a portfolio of existing programmes and learning materials. They will also lead training design projects, either for new courses or to update existing courses, as required by the Consulting business. They may also tutor on courses from time to time depending on interest, capacity and expertise.

About the role
Key components of this role include:
· Quickly getting up to speed on the existing programmes in your portfolio including the design, subject area, business contacts, previous evaluation and internal/external tutor pool.
· Building strong relationships with existing programme business sponsors and subject matter specialists/client facing practitioners, to ensure that we are linked in with the evolving needs of the business relevant to the particular area of the syllabus.
· Maintaining oversight of the work undertaken by the Course Guardian in the Consulting L&D; operations team who manages the day to day scheduling and logistics of your programmes.
· Consulting with the business to completing training needs analysis and write and obtain business sign off for robust learning objectives for all new training requests.
· Leading projects to design and deliver new programmes or update the design of existing programmes. This will often include the incorporation of learning technology with the support of internal specialists or external vendors.
· Leading design meetings and providing instructional design on new programmes including the use of learning technology.
· Collaborating with Learning Technology & Educational Methods and other Learning and Relationship Leads to bring the most effective, efficient and value-added solutions to meet business needs, ensuring the most appropriate design techniques and delivery media are employed including e-learning tools when appropriate.
· Collaborating with client facing practitioners and subject matter specialists to identify and write content.
· Writing self-study content and session notes, drawing on subject matter specialists if required.
· Evaluating the learning effectiveness, business impact and take up of your programmes, forming recommendations for any future action that may need to be taken in respect of this.
· Training internal and external tutors for the programme, and then supporting and managing their performance/effectiveness as tutors.
· Tutoring on courses depending on experience and expertise.
· Staying up to date with the Firm-wide people & business priorities and planning to ensure appropriate adjustments are made to the programmes.
· Effective management of allocated budget.
Essential role requirements:
· Experience in designing and delivering Learning and Development solutions preferably within a corporate business environment
· Sound knowledge of instructional design methodologies
· Experience in consulting with the business regarding their learning needs, objectively assimilating data and information to inform recommendations
· Ability to lead and develop self and others to provide a distinctive and sustainable L&D; service to the firm
· Ability to communicate confidently and influence effectively at all levels
· Demonstrated ability to build mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
· Ability to work professionally and collaboratively as part of the wider team to create value for the firm
Desirable skills sought for the role:
· L&D; Qualification or equivalent
· Experience designing programmes which include the use of learning technology such as e-learns or mobile learning
· Training and facilitation skills
· Planning and project management experience
