Hungarian Local Bookkeeper Required

Neon Media Lab is looking for an experienced Hungarian Bookkeeper to take full responsibility for the monthly accounting of our Hungarian entity while also supporting and understanding the wider international group structure.

This role requires someone who can oversee not only the local Hungarian accounting processes, but also understand the full group structure, manage intercompany relationships, support group-wide finance operations, and help ensure smooth alignment across all entities within the group.

Based in Budapest, we work closely with international finance teams across different regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for monthly bookkeeping and maintenance of accounting records
• Full understanding and support of the wider international group structure and finance processes
• Managing and reconciling intercompany transactions and cost recharges across multiple entities
• Raising and recording sales invoices
• Processing and recording purchase invoices
• Bank and payment processor reconciliations
• Preparing accurate and complete monthly accounts
• Supporting group reporting requirements
• Posting and reviewing monthly adjustments from sales data (further details provided during onboarding)
• Assisting with local compliance requirements and Hungarian GAAP where applicable

Requirements

• Strong experience with Hungarian bookkeeping and local accounting regulations
• Strong understanding of international group structures and intercompany accounting environments
• Ability to independently take ownership of both local accounting responsibilities and group-related finance processes
• Excellent reconciliation skills and strong attention to detail
• Fluent Hungarian
• English speaking is a strong advantage for working with the wider international finance team
• Experience with Számlázz.hu (Szamlazz) or similar accounting/invoicing systems
