SHADOW TEACHING ASSISTANT

The British International School Budapest is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Your Responsibilities:

  • Support the individual child’s academic progress and personal development
  • Ensure they have safe, structured, and successful days in school
  • Facilitate access to our challenging academic curriculum and school life
  • Help the child develop self-regulation and organizational skills to strive for excellence

This is a long-term position, reviewed termly by the school and the child’s parents, who act as contractors. 

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in social work or special education
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs, especially in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Advanced level of English
  • Be compassionate, patient, and committed to inclusive education
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, school staff, and parents
  • Be proactive in helping the child access all aspects of school life
