Client Details

I am currently working with a Public Sector organisation who are looking to recruit 2 HR Officers/Advisors on a temp to perm basis.


The HR Officer/Advisor will be responsible for:

Support to Achieve Effective Service Delivery - Operational HR Support

Provide advice and guidance on a range of HR and ER issues and cases.

Speed up attendance management cases by supporting managers to ensure timely completion of Occupational Health referrals, conduct absence review and return to work meetings, produce notes, draft outcome letters and progress requisite follow up actions, e.g. implementation of reasonable adjustments.

Input into local restructurings and change.

Support key operational and strategic HR work by drafting correspondence and formulating bundles of documents for ER cases.

Provide advice to decision makers during formal hearings and appeal processes.

Provide support for recruitment.

Provide briefings and local training to support routine HR processes.

Support initiatives to improve the well-being and engagement of teams and individuals.
Service Effectiveness - Strategy and Development

Provide support to the Senior HR Management Team and HR Business Partners, to progress and implement people management solutions in order to achieve business objectives.

Provide support for HR projects including use of Management Information to inform cross-cutting workforce development, diversity and management effectiveness initiatives.

To have a detailed understanding of how HR can support the commitment to safeguarding within the organisation. This may include contributing to organisational wide activities to meet statutory and professional responsibilities concerning safeguarding, for example during recruitment processes and performance management.
Engagement and Partnership Working

Ensure that a clear understanding and adherence to equality and diversity are embedded in the service provided to senior managers and others.

Forge working relationships with key organisational stakeholders.
General Responsibilities

Travel to attend meetings or training events.

At all times to act in accordance with legislation, National Directives and company policies.

Involvement in supporting more complex cases, including employment tribunal preparation, as well as drafting more complex documents such as hearing outcome letters.

Provide advice and guidance to decision makers during formal hearings. At the discretion of senior management this may extend to dismissals and appeals against dismissal.

Diagnose or identify local requirements for staff support and develop innovative well being interventions.


The successful HR Officer/Advisor will:

Experience of advising directly on a range of HR, management and ER issues within a complex organisation.

Thrive in a fast-paced environment

Ability to manage/mitigate risk in an ER case.

Able to demonstrate reasoned and professional judgements.

Experience of supporting line managers to continuously improve staff performance and to effectively manage organisational change.

Experienced in undertaking investigations and supporting managers during formal procedures.

Have exposure to supporting HR projects.

Be immediately available.
