Main Purpose of Job

You will be required to deliver a comprehensive, proactive, inclusive and customer focussed HR service to managers, employees, potential employees, volunteers and the Senior Management Team.

implementation of robust HR policies and procedures and processes
oversee staff recruitment, engagement, development and retention
oversee employee relations matters
advise on employment contracts and staff terms and conditions
support the development of a coherent HR strategy and Workforce plans for staff and volunteers which are aligned with business goals
ensure strategic and focused reporting on HR matters across the organisation together with high level reporting to the SMT and Board with recommendations for improvement
the management of the HR and Service team

HR Manager Responsibilities:

Implementation of robust HR policies, procedures and processes in line with the companies equality targets

Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes, implementing changes where necessary and ensuring the highest possible quality including that of effective and efficient systems.
Ensure compliance with Data Protection throughout the HR process.
Apply HR and business knowledge to review and improve existing policies, procedures and enhance performance.
Complete the implementation of the CIPHR HR/Payroll system to provide value added services, including metrics reporting.
Manage the implementation of adhoc projects.Overseeing staff recruitment, engagement, development and retention

Provide advice on recruitment and selection strategies and implement effective techniques for recruitment.
Manage the effective delivery of internal training programmes.
Enhance the learning and development culture within the companies principles of continuous learning, improvement and ambition.
Oversee and enhance the appraisal monitoring system.
Support the Directors in managing talent and succession planning.
Report on the above including staff turnover and retention.Managing employee relations matters

Together with the Deputy HR Manager, manage complex employee casework including dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy in a confidential and sensitive manner.
Together with the Deputy HR Manager, support Senior Managers with internal restructures and other arrangements.
Oversee compliance requirements with regards to employee contracts, pensions and related matters.
Manage TUPE as required.Employment contracts and staff terms and conditions

Together with the HR Team, ensure employment contracts are compliant with current legislation and that new employees receive contracts within a reasonable timescale.
Develop an affordable reward strategy, ensuring good staff negotiation.
Undertake annual benchmarking salary exercise and compile recommendations to the Directors.
Together with the Deputy HR Manager, manage the administration of payroll and payroll records to enable correct payroll calculations. (Payroll calculations are managed by Finance and a payroll bureau.)
Ensure the provision of first line advice on current and existing benefits for employees and managers. Strategic and focused reporting on HR matters

Manage the generation of reports and data to quantify performance and HR trends on a regular basis for the Senior Management Team and HR sub-committee of the Board.
Identify and report on HR risks, making recommendations for managing risk.
