In Western Europe, the distribution network is composed by owned distribution subsidiaries, Joint Ventures and 3rd party distributors. The Western Europe director and most of the area managers working for this region are based in Geneva.
In Africa & Levant, Rémy Cointreau only operates through 3rd party distributors; this region is run from South Africa, where the director and most of her team are based.
A Financial Controller, based in Geneva, is looking after these two regions from a controlling / finance standpoint, mainly focusing on Joint Venture and 3rd party distributors, as Rémy Cointreau has its own local Finance team in the other markets.
Needless to say that these two regions - Western Europe and Africa & Levant - are facing very different business trends and challenges.
We are seeking today a talented Finance Controller, under a VIE contract, to support the Financial Controller in charge of Western Europe & Africa regions.
Assist the Western Europe & Africa Financial Controller in the following areas
- Support the Area Managers / Zone Directors to develop the business in accordance with the Group's strategic plan, acting as an "independent business partner"
- Manage the budget and forecasts processes, as well as the production and analysis of the management reporting
- Drive the forecast process, collecting, computing and analysing the data for the whole EMEA zone
- Contribute to certain "ad hoc" or transversal projects
Depending on the progress and level of autonomy of the Finance Controller, he / she could be directly in charge of certain markets after a few months, including regular markets visits.
Work together with the business teams and provide financial expertise, challenge the consistency of business assumptions, identify the key value drivers and key risks
Act as an "analytical strength" to support the markets / region development and anticipate market needs whilst optimising company profile
Compute the financial tasks for the reporting phases: budget, forecast, medium term Plan (…)
Produce the regions' management reporting every month
Perform "ad hoc" studies and analysis, helping understand better the business trends (e.g. on the pricing of our products)
Play a strong role in the control and monitoring of the costs (advertising and promotions, overheads)
Develop forecast evaluation and early warning to senior management when appropriate
Contribute to elaborate business presentations for senior management clearly outlining the business case fundamentals
Collect, compute, consolidate and analyse the forecasts for the EMEA zone
Liaise with other departments: consolidation, tax, treasury, IT, legal, corporate & brand controlling, supply chain, production, customer service, marketing
A first class academic record with a university degree in a relevant discipline and / or post graduate finance qualification
Previous experiences as a Finance Controller, in a FMCG business and within an operational B.U., would be appreciated; experience in audit would be also appreciated
Easy going with IT & reporting systems
