Job descriptionThe FST positions within the customer service team of Morpho Detection remain a key customer face of the company and the role offers a wide perspective of all market arenas and applications. Flexibility of abilities is key to success and the FST will be subjected to all elements of the operational requirements of the high level security detection business. There is a wide scope of functions to consider, including the delivery of routine preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance services, system installations, customer training and special applications projects. FST's may be trained to support of a wide range of equipment including the CTX based X-Ray systems and conventional X-Ray systems, trace detection instruments and substance identification equipment, however specialist duties on a prescribed product range is expected and will be detailed as part of the role. There may also be opportunity to receive training and offer support to the product range from the wider Morpho family that includes biometrics systems. A willingness to travel not only within the assigned region but globally is a necessity as there is to be no differentiation between domestic and international duties. A professional and confident manner is important with an underlying ability in electronics and another science is of benefit. Communications skills must be exemplary and ability to speak foreign languages is a benefit Due to the physicality of the role and concerns over health and safety around working in airport baggage handling environments, good physical manoeuvrability and agility are essential as are an understanding of the importance of health and safety at work, compliance with regulatory training and procedure and the appropriate use of PPE.
Additional description- Routine Maintenance Activities The FST role is primarily concerned with the timely delivery of quality preventative and corrective maintenance services to our customers. FST's are expected to build operation relationships with customers and site contractors and take the time to understand their demands and expectations.
- Self Management
Self sufficiency and flexibility are essential. Work daily with the managers and base administrators to ensure jobs are completed in a timely and professional manner whilst retaining the ability to respond appropriately to challenging circumstances that regularly present themselves to a FST working in the field. Full adherence to Health and Safety regulations and requirements is mandatory
- Sales Support
There may be an occasional need to work closely with area sales managers, support may be offered for all sales functions including demonstrations, exhibitions, trials and other meetings as time permits. Success will be measured in part by the sales success for the prescribed region and every effort will be made to ensure sales growth. The FST will liaise with the technical support teams in the EMEA and USA for high level technical queries and special operations.
Travel specifictity- System Installation and Commissioning
The FST will be expected to assist with new system commissioning and customer training. Installations should be completed in a timely and professional manner and working from an installation proforma, may be tailored to the individual application where required. Training material and certificates will be offered and administered from the base office and completed installations will be signed off by the customer using the appropriate paperwork.
- Training
Either as part of an installation or as a modular revenue maker, customer and agent training may form a part of the FST's job. Training will be based upon prescribed and controlled training packages created in PowerPoint and may be presented either at a MD training centre or at a customer's site anywhere in the world. A successful FST must have the confidence to present a training course in a professional and concise manner along with the technical expertise to be able to answer questions and guide customers on best practices.
- Repairs and Diagnostics
The ability to effectively and efficiently affect repairs to faulty machines is a must. The majority of the machines are modular in design and repairs are to board level rather than component level but an in depth knowledge of electronic circuitry will allow the FST to resolve less usual problems with the minimum of delay to the customer.
