Job Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations, this individual provides the ER Specialists with support in the delivery of key services, ranging from analytical information to specialist advice and bespoke tailored documentation. The ER Specialist team, has primary responsibility for providing advice to Line Managers on key aspects of Employee Relations, Legislation, tailoring and approach of policy with individual responsibility for managing an extensive and challenging caseload. The role operationally supports the Specialist team in achieving these responsibilities as well as providing support to the team in business led initiatives and ER based projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide initial support with positive re-positioning of ER function to clients following internal group changes. Responsibility of managing internal caseload at point of initial contact and redistribution of work, explanation of policy in line with ER function's supporting strategy post April 2012.
Provides understanding and Interpretation of Yell's policies and practices in an effectively through the application of coaching. Provide support to ER Specialists to deliver at the most complex level of ER processes (grievance disciplinary, performance, appeal, conduct, absence management)
Supporting the ER Specialists in the handling of complex ER caseloads to ET level including medical referrals.
Providing operational support to Head of Employee Relations and ER Specialists community in supporting ER led projects including TUPE, organizational re-design, implementation of contract variations and redundancies.
Working as a team to manage caseload, share knowledge and to heavily reduce reliance on external advisory costs.
Support Head of ER in the collation and analysis of HR information, including the monitoring of HR activity and customer satisfaction to evidence continued added value.
Support Specialists through work relating to organisational change; due diligence, consultation and effective communication through to the delivery of project.
Application of creative recommendations in line with the commercial requirements of the business.
Development and ownership of processes/templates/guideline


Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
To able to work with the minimum of supervision, utilising own initiative and through team working to make effective and consistent decisions.
Clear understanding of current employment law, case law and awareness of the overall Employment Tribunal process, experience at ET desirable not essential, as role offers experience under supervision
Ability to quickly build credible relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
Ability to manage time and pressure effectively, with a flexible positive attitude to changing priorities and deadlines, whilst maintaining excellent attention to detail.
Effective and committed ownership of tasks, strong organisational skills with the ability to review priority workload.
