Deputy Director of People

Temporary: Expected to be on going until the role is filled permanently

Location: Uxbridge

Hours per week: Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm

Salary: £47.50 PAYE - £52.00 Umbrella

General duties:

* Lead, develop and manage the Trust's resourcing agenda, ensuring that the Trust's plans to recruit, utilise and retain its workforce are effectively and proactively integrated, ensuring strong strategic planning and effective utilisation of the whole organisation's workforce resources is achieved.

* To ensure that there is appropriate engagement with external agencies, both to influence regional and national priorities and future commissioning intentions, and also to factor in national developments and workforce planning expectations into Trust plans.

* To ensure that the workforce resource is well planned and fit for purpose, with effective systems and processes in place to provide assurance to the organisation on how the workforce resource is best utilised.

* To provide authoritative specialist HR advice and expertise to the Trust's Directors to support the Trust in delivering its strategic and business objectives.

* With the Director of People and Organisation Development (Director of People & OD), provide strategic direction and leadership in implementing the Trust's People Strategy to continually improve and modernise the workforce.

* Deputise for the Director of People &OD providing professional leadership and strategic focus to the People and OD Directorate. This may include representing the Director of People &OD at Board/ Executive meetings on sensitive matters.

* Develop and implement proactive strategies, policies and plans to meet the Trust objectives. This will include clear workforce strategies and plans that draw in both national and local trends and drivers for change needed.

* Contribute to the development of Trust policies and business objectives, ensuring the People and Organisational Development Directorate meet the changing needs and priorities of the organisation.

* Effective liaison, communication and partnership working with Directors, other members of the Trust management executive (TME) and staff side to ensure delivery of a seamless quality service to meet the Trust needs.

* Act as a senior role model and leader to the People team supporting their continuous development and improvement
