Our Delivering Deal Value (DDV) team, within Consulting, assists both Corporate and Private Equity (PE) clients in a wide range of business critical operational and transformational challenges, driven by Merger and Acquisition (M&A;) activity. We advise our clients on deals with values ranging from £50 million to over £5 billion.
DDV is now a core team of over 80 specialists across a number of key industry sectors with c.15 Retail, Consumer and Leisure specialists. We are currently interested in speaking to people with strong airline industry experience with:
• Previous experience working in an operational line management role at an airline, or experience in airlines consulting with a focus on mid-office/back office operations
• Experience in an operational role which would involve working on change projects / business improvement and delivering quantifiable benefit to their organisation.
• Comfort around high level financial analysis and understanding of the key drivers of an airline business
• Experience running part or whole transition plans
• Exposure to M&A;
• Experience of organisational change, sourcing and supplier management, operations, fulfilment, pricing and sales or distribution
Whilst primarily London based, our deal involvement is global in nature and candidates must be prepared to travel widely and frequently as and when required.
About the role
DDV focuses on providing support for potential/actual transactions and assists clients in all operational aspects of the transaction, pre and post completion, including:
• Buy and sell side operational due diligence
• Synergy development and review
• Carve out and divestment support
• Taking control and 100 day planning
• Mergers & Acquisitions Integration
• Post acquisition performance improvement
As part of the transaction process, the DDV team develops a rapid understanding of the target/client business in order to quickly assimilate the key operational issues, synergies, risks and upsides around a transaction. We report our findings real time to our clients but, typically, we will also produce clear, written reports articulating our findings for any purchaser or vendor. We may then be involved in helping our clients with the post deal implementation, advising on synergies, cost reduction opportunities, implementation plans and programme management.
Additionally, the team works closely with our Transactions Services group, which employs over 350 professionals in the UK and more than 2,500 across our global TS business. These specialist teams are uniquely placed to advise at all stages of a deal from strategic inception through to due diligence to post deal planning and integration.
As well as consulting expertise, our team members have considerable industry experience in running businesses and implementing change. Due to continued success and increased demand for our services, DDV is seeking to enhance this team via select, high calibre appointments.

• Operational experience gained within an airline
• Ability to manage 'change' projects
• An ability to 'read' a business/process
• A demonstrated ability to operate on your own initiative
• Comfort and ability around report writing and presenting
Desirable skills:
• Degree, MBA or Accounting qualification
• Consulting experience (internal or external)
• Commercial exposure in negotiation and consultation
• Experience in a multi-site environment.
• Online and digital experience
