Centre Lathe / CNC Turner - Cumbria, Barrow-in-furness, LA130

We are recruiting for a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Turner to join our team in Barrow, Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity for either an apprentice trained or time served machinist. In this role, you will work as part of a team manufacturing high value titanium material components on manual and CNC lathes.

As the CNC Turner, your main responsibilities will involve:

Day to day tasks include ensuring material, process layout and drawings are correct issue.
The transportation of materials and work-in-progress within manufacturing route.
Assess manufactured features for conformance to requirements.
Declare non-conformances as they are produced or detected.
Assistance in quality control systems and investigations (i.e. non-conformance reviews).
Support continuous improvement deployment through active participation on Lean Events, Workshops and Continuous Improvement activities.

As the CNC Turner, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Apprentice served / time served machinist with manual machine experience a prerequisite
CNC setting & operating skills in a precision engineering environment, ideally with Fanuc, Mazatrol, or similar controls experience would be advantageous.
Ability to work in a team environment, actively following the principles of GCS people philosophy.
Due to the value of the components to be machined an attention to detail is extremely advantageous.

We are looking for a professional and experienced machinist with exceptional attention to detail. Due to the nature of the team's work the candidate must be enthusiastic, possessing excellent communication skills and be able to work under their own initiative. You should be able to demonstrate that you are a team player, with a strong health and safety awareness and a willingness to learn new skills.

Grade C
Salary £24,000+
