Our Global asset manager partner, who is establishing its new business service center in Budapest is hiring a Trade Operations OTC Team Lead. Their purpose is to help clients define and achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investment approaches, and exceptional service.
Your new roleLead a team of Trade Operations analysts responsible for the smooth and efficient execution of all trade lifecycle processes across multiple asset classes and products. The team’s responsibilities span Trade Affirmation & Capture, Settlements & Cashflows, Collateral & Margin, and support for complex securities. The Team Lead drives operational excellence, mitigates risk, ensures regulatory compliance, and acts as a primary contact for internal and external stakeholders (investment teams, brokers, custodians, technology partners).
Key responsibilitiesLead, coach, and develop a Trade Operations team; ensure strong daily coverage and high performance.
- Provide trade support for complex securities, including OTC derivatives and private placements.
- Oversee accurate and timely trade processing: confirmations, settlements, collateral movements, corporate actions, and cash flows.
- Resolve queries on OTC instruments from traders, portfolio managers, custodians, and counterparties.
- Coordinate closely with traders, brokers, custodians, and internal teams for smooth end‑to‑end processing.
- Define and embed best practices for trade operations; enhance the operating model with Operations Leadership.
- Lead and support operational change: design, testing, and implementation of new processes and system enhancements.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations; represent Trade Operations in audits and reviews.
- Build strong relationships and serve as the escalation point for operational issues.
- Maintain and improve procedures; promote continuous improvement
What you need to succeed
- Extensive OTC trade operations expertise, covering the full lifecycle (affirmation & capture, settlements, cashflows, collateral & margin, complex securities
- Familiarity with market utilities such as CTM, SWIFT, CLS, Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess; experience with Aladdin is an advantage.
- Proven ability to manage and develop teams within financial services or asset management.
- Operational risk & control mindset, with solid knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, able to partner across functions and with external parties (brokers, custodians, counterparties).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Strong people leadership and motivation skills, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing culture.
- Team‑oriented, client‑focused approach, prioritising service quality and timely issue resolution.
