Head of Investment

Our Global asset manager partner, who is establishing its new business service center in Budapest is hiring an Investment Head. Their purpose is to help clients define and achieve superior financial outcomes through differentiated insights, disciplined investment approaches, and exceptional service. 
Your new roleTake on a senior leadership role overseeing Team Leads across Trade Operations, Asset Servicing, Investment Accounting (Reconciliations), Treasury Operations, Pricing & Valuations, and Alternative Investment Operations. The Head of Investment Operations is accountable for the strategic direction, leadership, and overall performance of these functions, ensuring operational excellence, effective risk management, and full regulatory compliance.This position requires extensive experience within global financial services or asset management, along with a deep understanding of the operational disciplines managed by each team. 
Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a group of Team Leads, ensuring strong management coverage across all operational areas.
• Define the strategic direction for the department, aligning operational goals with broader organizational objectives.
• Oversee the performance and development of teams across Trade Operations, Asset Servicing, Investment Accounting, Treasury Operations, Pricing & Valuations, and Alternative Investment Operations.
• Ensure operational excellence, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance across all functions.
• Drive innovation, process improvements, and best‑practice adoption throughout the department.
• Partner with senior leadership, portfolio management, technology, compliance, legal, and risk teams to design and implement robust operational procedures.
• Lead major operational initiatives, including process redesign, system enhancements, and testing activities.
• Represent the Operations function during audits, regulatory reviews, and senior management forums.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as an escalation point for complex operational matters.
• Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures, ensuring continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
• Perform additional duties as required.

What you need to succeed:

• Extensive experience across middle‑office processes, including trade lifecycle management, collateral management, corporate actions, reconciliations, performance, and cash oversight (FX oversight, cash ladders, overdraft monitoring).
• Strong understanding of financial instruments across equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX, and alternatives, including familiarity with SICAV, OEIC, and segregated mandates.
• Proven track record leading large, multi‑disciplinary teams within global financial services or asset management.
• Exceptional relationship‑building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with senior partners.
• Ability to motivate, inspire, and develop teams while fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
