Head of Accounting

Head of Accounting position with German language knowledge is open at our multinational partner. Reporting directly to the
Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role is responsible for the accurate execution of monthly and annual financial statements and tax-related tasks. The company prepares financial reports in accordance with
Hungarian and German accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of 6 finance professionals.
• Oversee the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements and ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards.
• Monitor liquidity and manage financial processes efficiently.
• Act as a strategic leader, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
• Serve as the main point of contact for financial communication with the German parent company; regular presentations in German are required.
• Drive digitalization and automation initiatives in collaboration with other departments.
• Implement and oversee efficiency improvement measures across financial operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• University degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Extensive professional and leadership experience in finance, preferably in an international environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Hungarian and German accounting standards; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
• Registered auditor status and certified accountant credentials are considered an advantage.
• Solid understanding of taxation (VAT, corporate tax, social security contributions).
• Strong IT skills, especially in SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in Hungarian and German (spoken and written), intermediate English
