Finance Accountant

Our partner, who is a leading provider of credit insurance, surety solutions, and debt collection services, is looking for a detail-oriented Finance Accountant.

Your new role 

In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring full compliance with both local regulations and international standards, while supporting financial reporting across our multinational organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in line with Hungarian accounting regulations and IFRS.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, perform bank reconciliations, and prepare general ledger entries.
• Oversee the dunning process to secure timely payments.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
• Work closely with regional finance teams in Germany and the CEE region to ensure timely and compliant reporting.
• Review existing accounting processes, identify inefficiencies, and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with international teams to streamline financial procedures and introduce best practices.
• Contribute to automation and digital transformation initiatives within the finance function.

What you'll need to succeed 

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in accounting; experience in an international or insurance environment is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Hungarian accounting and tax regulations, as well as IFRS standards.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with ERP systems (Oracle is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills in both Hungarian and English.
• Proven experience in analysing processes and implementing improvements.
• Strong technical affinity and the ability to work with AI tools and digital technologies.
