BACKUP ADMIN – SYSTEM ENGINEER

Your responsibilities:

  • Daily operation of data backup and data protection systems supporting corporate IT applications
  • Configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of backup infrastructure in an enterprise environment, including:
  • Deduplication backup target systems (e.g. Data Domain)
  • Media servers
  • Modern software-defined backup solutions (Cohesity)
  • Archiving and long-term data retention solutions (e.g. tape infrastructure)
  • Participation in the implementation of the Cohesity environment and migration to the new platform
  • End-to-end lifecycle management of backup and restore infrastructure (data protection)
  • Active involvement in preventing operational incidents
  • Communication with internal customers and IT vendors
  • Continuous maintenance and updating of system operation documentation
  • Supporting reporting obligations

Requirements:

  • At least 3–5 years of experience operating storage-side and backup systems
  • Confident English language skills
  • Hands-on experience with server-side operations (Windows/Linux servers, virtual environments)
  • Solid knowledge of databases
  • Practical experience working with ITIL methodology
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duty, including occasional evening and weekend work
  • Fast learner with a team-oriented mindset
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Advantage (or willingness to learn):

  • Experience with Cohesity or NetBackup systems
  • PowerShell or Python scripting experience
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and process automation
