Our team drives the PwC Consulting reputation as a brand recognised for solving complex business issues with integrated industry & data analytics expertise. We work with both public and private sector clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, consumer goods, retail, telecommunications, media and healthcare. We have significant growth aspirations and are particularly interested in further enhancing our capabilities for advanced data analysis. The team is constantly evolving to address new challenges.
This role is for a Senior Associate. We have high expectations for staff at this level including client contact and being the engine to drive our analytics solutions. We are recruiting for this role in two locations: either based at our More London office near London Bridge, or based at our Waterfront Plaza office in Belfast. We would expect a significant amount of travel to our UK client locations, along with travel outside of the UK as required.
The most important skill for this role is an ability to solve business issues by acting in a role where you have assisted with hypothesis definition; and performed extensive data extraction, analysis and reporting. We would expect you to have demonstrated a capability for this.
About the roleOur practice is part of a UK data analytics community of over 500 professionals, with a targeted growth to 2016 to over 800 data analytics professionals.
We are looking to continue our aggressive growth through the recruitment of further outstanding senior associates. The group provides data analytics services to help clients with a diverse range of issues, including:
• Customer analytics including value management, segmentation, acquisition and marketing • Product and customer profitability analysis • Social media / sentiment analysis • Tactical data analysis and KPI reporting • Financial/Business projections, supporting corporate, business unit or organisational strategy • Decision support including business case and benefits management • Operational improvement for example through simulation & activity analysis and optimisation • Business reporting tools and financial applications
Our Consulting practice is co-ordinated on a global basis to deliver appropriate solutions to clients to meet the needs of ever changing financial, business and regulatory environments, often working in with close collaboration with other professionals.

You will demonstrate good business knowledge and be financially literate. You will have a gift for problem solving and possess a natural ability to express complex commercial, data and analytical issues in non-technical language.
Your track record will demonstrate experience in helping to build analytics solutions that address a variety of business problems. You will have experience in working with clients from various, or a particular industry / sector and delivering projects that cover the entire analytics cycle (from hypothesis definition and scoping through to testing the completed product and handing it over to the client); or have in-depth experience of a particular stage in the analytics lifecycle. You will have a sound knowledge of analytics and modelling best practice and methodology.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work as part of an integrated team, solve complex problems under pressure, and have excellent communication skills. You will be analytically minded and have the ability quickly to assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge to deliver insights and solve problems.

Essential skills needed for the role:
• Education to degree level, ideally with finance, economics, engineering, operational research or other numerical subject matter
• Your track record will demonstrate your experience in working on analytical solutions (including data gathering, development of algorithms and building interactive reports)
• Experience of one or more of the following subjects
• Customer analytics
• Demand analytics
• Sales/product analytics
• The development of financial and / or operating models
• Business case development
• Financial/MI reporting
• Cost management
• Pricing and profitability management
• Experience of working with business stakeholders from one or more business functions (e.g. marketing, sales, finance, procurement, etc)
• Recent experience in one or more of the following target sectors Telecommunications, Media, Retail, Consumer Products, Healthcare, Government, Financial Services, Insurance, Utilities or Industrial Products
• Extensive experience in one or more of:
• Advanced data analytics tools to solve business problems (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R, KXEN, etc.)
• Extracting information from databases using SQL or other toolsets
• Building interactive reports (e.g. use of Tableau, Qlikview).
• Previous track record of interacting with business stakeholders
• Ability to communicate technical information in non-technical language
Desirable skills sought for the role:
• Personal / industry qualifications such as ACA/CIMA or MBA are valued but not considered essential
• Proficiency in a computer programming language such as C++, Java or VBA, Python
• Experience with other toolsets in relation to the subjects listed above including for example geographic analysis tools, simulation packages and dashboard tools
• Experience in Activity Based Costing, Simulation, System Dynamics, and Demand Forecasting
The location for this role is either in our London or Belfast Offices
