Senior Test Lead (BD-01184)

Our Client has over 25 years experience and a particular focus in capital markets origination, syndication, investment banking coverage, and strategy with every one of the top 50 banks in the world utilizing capital markets platform. The company provides a platform for investment banking and capital markets professionals globally to help improve strategy, competitiveness, and execution.

Position, objectives:

• Derive effective mechanisms for managing teams across multiple locations
• Provide mentoring, goal-setting, training & assessment for team members
• Contribute subject matter expertise in data warehousing to the global organisation, plus on market knowledge to the Analytics and Fixed Income test teams
• Target test approach, methods & priorities in order to address risks & deliver agreed levels of quality - in an effective and efficient manner
• Implement and support global test policy & strategies defined by the Global Head of Quality; devise & implement test strategy & plans at a release level
• Develop test strategies to effectively address project/ release goals, business priorities and technical requirements.
• Translate strategies into plans, then schedule, manage & co-ordinate testing through all test activities, stages and types across the lifecycle
• Ensure test activities, results and outcomes are recorded in order to monitor test process efficacy and test efficiency across the life-cycle
• Specify, implement & check test environments, configurations & data
• Track status & report on progress to test manager & stakeholders
• Manage defects across the development lifecycle, with strong control of severity and priority ratings, plus provision of defect reports appropriately targeted to multiple stakeholder audiences.
• Undertake detailed evaluation of testing in order to track status, progress, risks and issues in order to provide summary stakeholder reporting as standard and detailed analysis upon request.
• Act as a central point of contact for incident reporting & management, for Product Managers

Requirements:    

• Capable to travel (one week/month abroad)
• Enjoys software testing, enthusiastic about enterprise software development
• Positive outlook, desire to overcome challenges, Excellent interpersonal skills, communication & organisation
• Possess ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing, (Advanced Test Manager or ISEB Practitioner)
• Has a Degree in Information Technology/ Systems or business related discipline
• Experience of leading geographically dispersed teams where English is the common (but may not be the local) language
• Understands the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & its relationship to structured test process & standards implementation within sequential (waterfall, V-model) environments - with explicit use on data warehousing projects.
• Has a good understanding of financial markets, players, volumes, data and examples within the last 2 years (Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, LOANS – Syndicated, Mergers & Acquisitions)
• Practical experience in planning & managing testing of large, heavily integrated systems
• 5+ years background in software testing of enterprise systems, 2 or more in test leadership
• In-depth experience of testing on data warehousing projects and large scale application development & integration
• Proficiency with SQL/SSIS packages
• Coaching or training others on development & test standards and reviews of architecture (MVC3), frameworks (ASP.net), methods, models, schemas, code and test analysis (deconstruction) test design (test cases) and test scripting (eg, complex SQL)
