Our client

Our client is a leading global financial services company. Currently we are looking for a new colleague in the position of EMEA Payroll Accounting Operations Lead.

Tasks

- Leading, building and managing the Payroll Accounting team of 8+ people, ensuring that staff levels are sufficient to meet business need
- Recruiting internally and externally highly qualified delivery team members
- Managing the reconciliation, balancing and transmission of all vendor and bank interfaces of payroll related data in the field of Accounting
- Performing monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts
- Responsible for maintaining accurate account balances and complying with established guidelines
- Researches and resolves discrepancies of payroll information for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures
- Compiles statistical and payroll data from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing summaries to other personnel and/or ensuring compliance with established guidelines
- Assisting with the month-end and year-end close process
- Assisting auditors by providing documentation
- Participating in HR and Payroll related projects
- Assisting in developing reporting processes, procedures, and internal controls for the purpose of maintaining the efficient flow of financial processes
- Effectively manages and handles escalations
- Delivering Results by ensuring service continuity service delivery levels as defined and requested in volume, time and quality; backups availability and succession planning and resource planning

Requirements

- University level degree
- Fluent written and oral English
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HR/Payroll/Accounting from which min 2-3 years are from Payroll/Accounting from Shared Services environment
- Excellent understanding of financial/accounting and Payroll Administration concepts and procedures
- Knowledge of payroll and tax withholding regulations
- Proficient in a variety of software programs, including Microsoft Word, strong Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to build high performing teams
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to plan, organize and schedule duties to meet payroll processing deadlines
- Flexibility in regards to working patterns in payroll peak periods
