We are looking for a colleague to cover the

Transport Operations Assistant and Data Analyst

position.

Tasks:

  • Keeping contact with carriers, Alcoa locations and other internal departments to ensure on-time delivery at lowest possible cost
  • Preparing, updating and improving Transport cost and Delivery Performance reports using different internal and external database source
  • Preparing accurate transport cost per ton analysis on monthly basis. Meet tight deadlines set by finance colleagues
  • Participating in annual road/barge/container freight tender preparation and further maintenance of freight prices
  • Database management: handling and escalating all the reported issues corresponding the transportation related system/database in use
  • Container shipment related activities: booking vessels, completing shipping instructions, reviewing and managing Bill of Lading and daily update of already organized shipments

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Transportation & Logistics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Very advanced Excel skills
  • Exceptional administrative and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and good organizational skills
  • Experience in successfully working with virtual teams in multi-cultural environments
  • Experience in negotiating and influencing across business units desirable
  • Working knowledge of Oracle is an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute to digital changes/automation for manual processes
