Job Title: Transport Auditor and Field Support (Scotland)

Reporting to: Fleet Manager

Job level: Junior Management - Assistant Managers / Supervisory roles/Functional specialist

Key Interfaces: Fleet Manager; Head of Transport; GMGB Transport Department; Other GMGB Departments

Job Purpose

To audit and assist all GMGB branches that operate vehicles/MHE and ensure that they comply with the relevant transport laws and regulations and operate to best practice procedures.

This role will be based in middle-belt Scotland and you will be home based. You will have responsibility of the branches across Scotland including the Islands as well as covering branches in the North East of England.

Key Accountabilities

Auditing of GMGB branches and operating centres.
Produce accurate audit reports.
Carry out vehicle/crane handovers and Digital tachograph installations.
Carry out branch on site training for procedures and tachograph analysis, digital and analogue.
Training and setting of procedures in existing, new and acquired branches.
Liaise with repairers/suppliers to solve maintenance issues
Manage, organise, and update relevant data using database applications including the intranet.
Communicate and provide information by relevant methods internally and externally to assist the team.
Interpret issues arising from audits, and then implement actions according to relevant policies and procedures.
Perform any other duties as may be deemed necessary or as may be required by the company
Balance Branch needs whilst not compromising road transport or health and safety regulations.
May be required to sit on company operator licence(s) as a nominated Transport Manager


Standard National CPC qualification
Cat C driving Licence
Driver qualification card
ALLMI lorry loader qualification
Counterbalance forklift licence
Moderate computer skills in word and excel
Experience of tachograph analysis systems
Basic mechanical knowledge
Ability to work using own initiative.
Good communication skills
Good organisational skills
This position involves considerable travelling and nights away from home.
Working patterns and hours need to be flexible to suit the role.
