Our Valuations practice is looking to hire a senior manager into the London office to support the growth in the Dispute Valuations offering. This offering includes valuations and damages assessment for corporate disputes (litigation and arbitration), private client disputes (eg. matrimonial and shareholder) and expert determinations. We are frequently referred to by lawyers as a leading firm in the London private client valuation market and have represented clients in significant international arbitration and litigation disputes
In addition to excellent commercial and client relationship skills and strong communication and analytical capabilities, we would expect the successful candidate to have significant experience of the following:
• Preparing robust valuations of businesses, intangible assets and shares in the context of litigation and/or arbitration
• Writing excellent expert reports
• Undertaking expert determinations of value (and understanding the processes around such determinations)
• Providing support to the expert and legal teams (including critiquing opposing expert reports, attending expert meetings, preparing cross-examination questions)
• Supporting business development activity, primarily focused on law firms and counsel.
About the role
As the UK market leading Valuations practice, our UK team of more than 100 dedicated valuers delivers unparalleled valuation expertise. Within the practice, Dispute Valuations is a growing part of our business, working alongside Forensic Services and the wider Deals Business. We are looking for an individual who can lead dispute valuation engagements (supporting the named expert), drawing upon skills from across the practice and their own experience to deliver robust and commercial valuations and prepare clear and concise expert reports that can withstand the scrutiny of opposing experts and the court/arbitration panels.
The successful candidate will enjoy potential for rapid personal development by playing an important role in the business. From the outset they will be exposed to a diverse range of challenging valuation work across industry sectors and there will also be great opportunities to build business development and marketing skills.
The successful individual will:
• Lead the delivery of a wide variety of valuation assignments primarily within the Dispute Valuations area to support the nominated expert. • Apply appropriate valuation methodologies, including market multiples and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF). • Prepare concise and well written expert reports. • Manage and coach junior colleagues. • Build relationships and interact well with legal teams and clients. • Interact with senior colleagues, particularly within PwC's Forensics and other Deals teams to deliver valuations alongside other services provided by PwC. • Support the Dispute Valuation and wider Valuations practice in the development of key client relationships and contribute to the growth of the business.

We are looking for an individual at Senior Manager level who has an excellent track record with previous dispute valuation, client-facing work experience and is able to demonstrate the following personal attributes:
• Strong academic and work track record, including extensive experience of commercial, client-facing work , with demonstrable and extensive dispute valuation experience. • Strong analytical skills but tempered with an ability to think laterally and commercially. The candidate will take responsibility for the delivery of projects. • Ability to articulate key business drivers and specific valuation issues. • Ability to manage junior resource and coach them through complex valuation issues. • Ability to deliver high quality written work. Strong attention to detail and be able to prepare and review valuation reports which support valuation conclusions, including industry and market analysis, comparable company analysis and detail on adopted valuation methodologies. • Excellent communication skills; ability to discuss complex issues in confident, clear and articulate way, including with legal teams and clients. • Ability to work effectively in teams and willingness to take on a high degree of responsibility. • Excellent interpersonal skills and confidence when interacting with others. • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships with key clients and targets. • Ability to operate independently and proactively where appropriate, demonstrating initiative.
Desirable skills:
• Business development experience • A professional qualification (ACA, CFA or equivalent)
