Technical Operator - Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes, MK1 1
Multi-skilled Technical Operator capable of working with a variety of broadcast equipment in a number of live and post production environments. The Technical Operator is primarily responsible for providing audio and video control room support to the station, working closely with all teams to deliver professional broadcast content.
Live broadcast sound desk operation:
Monitoring and mixing audio channels, audio patching, operation of ancillary equipment (including compressor/limiters, ISDN units, record and replay devices and more) use of microphones, rigging of all equipment.
EVS operation including ingest/playout and slow motion replay, Digibeta VTR operation, source selection via router, use of IP Director and other server based video systems.
Control of on-screen graphics using a variety of graphics platforms.
Studio and Camera operation:
Camera set-up and racking, use of Radamec and other remote camera control systems, use of intelligent lighting controller/lighting desks, set-up of microphones and all associated studio equipment.
Use of Avid non-linear edit facilities on an ad hoc basis.
Use of vision desk for selection of source to air, utilising DVE moves and key bus selection for on-screen graphics incorporation.
Use of talkback facilities, interaction with broadcast and monitoring routers, carries out start-up and power down procedures in some technical areas.

Required Skills & Experience:
Prior experience as a Technical Operator in a broadcast environment,
or a recent graduate with a strong emphasis on broadcast production techniques and operations.
Strong knowledge of broadcast technical operations, including fundamentals of audio and video theory and production techniques.
The ability to troubleshoot audio/video problems, comprehension of equipment and techniques in the area of broadcast hardware and automation systems.
Previous live gallery experience.
A strong knowledge of gallery and studio equipment.
Good level of PC literacy
Excellent communication skills
The ability to work autonomously
An interest in Sport / Sports Broadcasting
