Our client, a multinational telecommunication company is looking for a Technical Manager in the field of Network and Security.


Provides support to specific Customer Services, and is instrumental in determining impact and cause of any service affecting incidents whilst providing technical improvement initiatives to the wider team. Leads a team of technical experts with detailed knowledge of the underlying network and security platforms utilised by the customer services.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of network and security systems specialists across multiple WAN and LAN platforms and operating systems
- Promote a proactive focus on E2E service
- Take ownership of the consolidated technical response to major incidents where severe impact on the user community is encountered, and direct proceedings to resolve the incident in conjunction with the major incident management function.
- Provide an understanding of the service and business impact of any major outage and communicate to all parties as appropriate, to enable the fast response decision making process
- Lead the team to deliver approved changes to the network and security estate and OS / applications interfaces, and to work with in country and functional leads across ITMS to determine upgrade recommendations
- Build a strong link between the ITMS Hub and in country technical support leads as well as the network and security functional Lead to ensure services are delivered consistently and efficiently to all ITMS customer contracts
- Gain and maintain a detailed understanding of the end to end service solution in place for the specific ITMS contracts supported both from the strategic hubs, and interface with the ITMS functional technical support teams in country to ensure their and their teams knowledge remains current and to a high standard
- Provide technical leadership to the Operational teams for network and security support, working closely with their peers in Apps, DB and infrastructure/OS management – and to comply with the Process Lead in terms of change / incident / problem etc. management
- Ensure procedures and working practices conform to ITIL standards
- Has responsibility for maintaining a low risk profile to the Service Operations infrastructure and OS team
- Manage the key technical elements of the service to prevent service impacting issues pro-actively
- Interface and direct design and delivery organizations to ensure operability of new deployments across all elements of the service


- ITIL foundation accredited
- Educated to degree level or equivalent, or extensive relevant employment experience or professional qualifications
- Ability to drive and inspire the technical resources within the team and across ITMS globally
- Detailed technical experience in one or more network and security platforms – expectation of 5+ years of senior relevant technical experience
- Preferably accredited to recognised industry standards CCNA, CCIE, IPCC
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Expected to develop detailed Service, Application knowledge specific to the customer related services
- 4+ years working in a large multi-platform organisation delivering critical business services
- Proven ability to coordinate and lead on complex system issue investigation across organisational boundaries
- Knowledge of Cisco CCM/PGW architecture and operational support
- Knowledge of Security technologies - CheckPoint, Cisco, Fortinet – firewalling, IDS/IPS, antivirus, URL filtering etc
- Knowledge of Network load balancing - Radware, F5, BlueCoat
- Knowledge of Network Acceleration - Ipanema, Compuware
- Strong Leadership and Staff Management skills
- Direct and Matrix management of multiple technical teams supporting a wide variety of services and technologies
- Management and ownership of the technical fix capability across ITMS
