Our Forensic Services team specialise in helping businesses deal with crisis and increasingly uses technology to assist with investigations, fraud prevention, legal discovery and software licensing reviews. In the UK alone, we have more than 100 technology practitioners working from offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Belfast.
We're looking for individuals with a background in IT, Maths or Engineering related disciplines to join us in an experienced role within our Forensic Services team in Belfast. If you have an analytical mind-set and are able to offer creative solutions to complex problems to bring value to our clients, we'll provide the scope of work and support to further develop your skills.
About the role

Much of our work centres on the analysis of large volumes of electronic data and because we operate in an environment where speed of response is often critical to our clients, we are constantly innovating and drawing on the very latest technologies.
We are currently recruiting for software developers within our Forensic Technology team who can work across this team and the wider Forensic Services team to focus on helping us create new and innovative solutions that can help augment our current toolsets.
This individual will be expected to carry out development to exact standards and be able to create innovative solutions. Demonstrate the ability to understand business requirements and rapidly prototype solutions. The results of this team will play a key component in our business development initiatives to win new work, as such the user experience needs to show great attention to detail and help differentiate us from competitors. Our business involves data from a multitude of sources which frequently need to be combined and manipulated to provide fresh insights.
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Strong analytical and technical aptitude;
• Ability to work on a project through all phases of a solution;
• Visualisation of data in an interactive dashboard style;
• Experience of creating unique and innovative designs;
• Experience of understanding business requirements and working with key stakeholders;
• The ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under tight deadlines;
• The ability to work independently with little supervision, but integrate well into teams;
• Concise and clear communication when presenting and explaining results and findings;
• A strong desire to learn and willingness to share knowledge.
Essential Criteria
You should be able to develop creative solutions to complex problems and should hold a minimum 2:1 degree in an IT, Maths or Engineering related discipline. You will have a minimum of two years practical experience in the field of software development covering the full development lifecycle, having experience in one or more of the following:
• C#, Java, Microsoft .NET
• Visualisation software e.g. Tableau, QlikView, D3 javascript, Flash
• SQL, PL/SQL, Dynamic SQL or TSQ
• JQuery, ASP.NET, Python, Visual Basic
• XCode for iPhone/iPad and HTML5 web app development
• Object Orientated design and implementation methodologies
Optional Criteria
Candidates with any of the following skills are encouraged to highlight these during the application process:
• Knowledge or understanding of Data Analytics, E-Discovery or Cyber Crime
• Experience with large document management systems
• An understanding of basic Accounting principles
• Any European Language(s)
• Other computer related qualifications
