SERVICE MANAGER (TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION & RESETTLEMENT)
HOUNSLOW
MONDAY - FRIDAY 8:45am - 5pm
3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)
£25.83 HOURLY RATE (PAYE)
IMMEDIATE START
MAIN DUTIES:
  • Effectively manage the Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement team responsible for the councils temporary accommodation function, homelessness decision making, move on and resettlement.
  • To proactively manage the objectives in the Homelessness Action Plan and lead a co-ordinated approach across the budgets in relation to temporary accommodation.
  • Monitor and spend across all forms of temporary accommodation and assist the Head of Service to manage the budgets in relation to temporary accommodation.
  • Manage the allocations of temporary accommodation, direct lets and supported housing, ensuring all accommodation offers are suitable and best use of made of all available housing stock with emphasis on homelessness prevention.
  • Ensure high quality homeless decisions are made in a timely manner and that staff work proactively to find an appropriate housing solution.
  • Proactively facilitate move on opportunities from supported housing and utilise community based resources to reduce social isolation and provide support to customers.
  • Carry out occupancy checks in temporary accommodation, home visits, and outreach sessions to raise awareness with residents and professionals.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Will have comprehensive knowledge and experience and managing temporary accommodation with a working knowledge of different accommodation options, including private rented accommodation and supported housing.
  • Will have substantial experience of allocating and managing temporary accommodation with working knowledge of different accommodation options, including private rented accommodation and supported housing.
  • Will have proven experience of staff management, delivering and leading change and transformation across a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Will have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and built trust mutually respectful relationships with a range of audiences.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer care and adapt behaviour of self and team to support residents.
