The role of the Senior Data Governance & Quality Manager is cross-functional and relates mainly to the coordination of information and data between departments within the bank and the group (IT and Business). This function acts as liaison, communicating through meetings, company events or memos the best use of data in each department from business owner, to IT, all the way to the consumer. In this sense, the Senior Data Governance & Quality Manager must have a solid understanding of DQ & DGOV to consider impacts in projects and activities with a sound understanding of banking business. It is up to this role to formulate, consult, monitor and influence the DGOV & DQ activities. This role is the SPOC for DGOV/DQ and is supporting projects and line managers with consultancy in terms of DGOV & DQ, including a close cooperation with Board Members, Project Sponsors, Business Experts and different colleagues from departments throughout the bank. Proper communication is one of the central skills of this position.
Manages and organizes the DGOV and DQ activities.
Acts as SPOC for Data Governance and Data Quality.
Monitors and consults DGOV and DQ Activities projects and activities.
Maintains and further develops the existing Data Governance Framework; Establishes, communicates and leads the adoption of DQ standards and best practices across the group.
Defines and maintains a DQ and DGOV roadmap and processes, evaluates current and future capabilities and provides recommendations to the DGOV council.
Leads the effort to create a DQ continuous improvement culture among the data stewards; drives communication throughout the group to elevate the organizations’ commitment to clean, reliable, and accurate data.
Organizes and leads the DGOV Council (Board Participation) and triggers, performs and monitors activities out of the DGOV Council.
Identifies business data needs and prepares data quality KPI s together with business. Analyses and provides data metrics to DGOV council in order to prioritize areas for data quality improvement.
Monitors and guides technical Data Delivery from subsidiaries in terms of DGOV and DQ.
Performs as a hands on manager to identify, document, and resolve data quality issues.
University degree in IT or Business; banking and/or project management trainings/certificates would be an advantage
5 years of experience in a similar position, relevant industry experience
Good understanding of the banking business
Familiar with typical issues in DGOV & DQM
Analytical skills, communication/negotiation skills, conflict management skills, team-oriented, proactive, flexible, hands-on personality
Experienced with Microsoft Office Products, MS SQL, DWH, DQ Solutions, Reporting Tools (e. g. SAP BO), different DBMS
Fluent in English; German or any Eastern European language would be an advantage
