We are looking for somebody with experience of the UK asset management market and UK regulatory environment and who is technically proficient in the FCA regime.
About the roleWe are a market leading asset management financial services regulatory team with a successful track record in providing consultancy advice to clients across a broad spectrum of the asset management industry. We have significant growth plans and are looking for an ambitious and dedicated professional advisor to help us achieve this growth.
As part of PwC's financial services regulatory practice, we work closely with colleagues in other disciplines delivering solutions.
With the help of this new talent, our aim is to continue to operate in the market as the premier, asset management regulatory consulting team, interacting with all the major market participants, playing a key role in taking PwC's regulatory offerings to clients.
The team comprises experts in a number of fields including prudential requirements, conduct of business, collective investment schemes and compliance and governance. We are a mixture of lawyers, compliance professionals, ex-regulators and ex-financial services auditors and we are looking to add to our already impressive talent pool.
· Working as part of a team and leading work streams on large engagements - working as part of a project team on client sites and day-to-day liaison with clients;
· Taking responsibility for the preparation of reports and presentations; attending presentations of findings/recommendations to client management team(s), including Boards of Directors;
· Leading technical input by becoming the 'subject matter expert' to a number of areas of importance to our clients in the regulatory arena;;
· Overseeing the identification and mapping of key systems and controls for demonstrating compliance with applicable FSA regulations;
· Driving proposition development and client meetings to discuss PWC assistance; building relationships with peers at key clients and across the industry;
· People development, mentoring and coaching junior staff;
· Technical research, responding to consultation papers from relevant regulatory bodies, providing input to the debate on development and application of policy, participating in PwC's Thought Leadership.
Desirable skills and experience include:

Experience of the UK asset management market or UK regulatory environment • Drive and determination to win new work, build our reputation and expand our service offerings to our clients • First class communication and writing skills. • Technically proficient in some areas of the FCA regime and requirements - including (but not necessarily expected to be an expert on all of the following): approved persons, training & competence, prudential requirements, supervisory process, principles-based regulation, client money and client assets, s.166 and enhanced supervision. • Experience in providing consulting advice to both established assets managers and new entrants- the ability to make new contacts, listen to their needs and interpret this to provide new opportunities to assist them; • An enthusiasm and commitment to working in the asset management industry and to learning new areas of regulatory expertise and applying this as part of a team based approach;. • A desire to build relationships with clients and to build a business based on trust and experience.
