We seek a registered manager to head up our domiciliary care division. This will be a brand new set up alongside an established nursing agency. The right candidate will play a pivotal role in the set up and management of the division including drafting of policies and processes as well as overseeing intial registration with CQC.
Upon registraton, you will be at the forefront of ensuring safe practice by the Healthcare professionals supplied by the business and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Emphasis is placed on the provision of high standards of patient care to the end client through thorough assessment of client's needs followed by screening of candidates to ensure fitness for purpose and performance monitoring and evaluation to ensure quality maintenance. Such standards are to be sustained and improved upon continually in line with the objectives of all parties (The Business, end user and regulatory bodies) to ensure quality improvement.
KEY RESULT AREAS
  • To oversee the delivery of person centred care and support services that promote independence, choice and dignity to empower people to live independently
  • To ensure delivery of a service that provides flexibility, reliability and continuity.
  • To ensure the service is appropriately covered with the right number of appropriately competent personnel.
  • Sourcing new clients via various marketing and business development technique with the support of the sales team.
  • Ensure new referrals are responded to in a timely manner in line with contractual timescales
  • Operate a service that ensures the Organisation's duty of care to the service user and staff providing the service.
  • To ensure good communication and links with all stakeholders with regard to the provision of services including commissioners, service users, relatives and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • To liaise with other interdepartmental managers to ensure the office is adequately staffed to ensure the needs of care packages are well attended to.
  • Handle complaints regarding service promptly and in-line with the Organisation's complaint policy
  • Being a Safeguarding point of contact
  • Being a point of contact for Regulatory bodies
  • Conducting Clinical governance and quality audits in line with company objectives
  • Providing clinical supervision as required to care staff.
COMPLIANCE
  • To ensure the service meets, and indeed exceeds, the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission guidance 'Essential Standards of Quality & Safety'.
SERVICE DEVELOPMENT
  • In partnership with the senior management team participate in the strategic development of the organisation and assist with the identification and development of strategies for the planning and delivery of quality, innovative domiciliary services.
  • To grow and develop services through increasing delivered hours and maximising referral opportunities.
  • To identify marketing opportunities and develop a marketing plan.
  • To manage projects that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
  • To produce monthly management reports
EDUCATION
  • To lead workshops and support with the provision and promotion of formal training to care workers
  • To maintain up-to-date knowledge base of Company and regulatory bodies
  • To support Audits and Client / Authority's evaluation of service
Health & Safety at Work Act
The individual will have a role to play under the Health and Safety Act 1974 to ensure that agreed procedures are carried out and that a safe working environment is maintained for workforce.
Professional Conduct
The post holder must comply with their appropriate professional body and code of conduct e.g. NMC Code: Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour for Nurses and Midwives, Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission guidance 'Essential Standards of Quality & Safety'.
Data Protection
The post holder will record information and so has a responsibility to ensure that the data is relevant, accurate, and complete and captured in a timely manner so that it is fit for purpose as per the fourth principle under the Data protection act.
Safeguarding
The Organisation has a responsibility to itself and its clients in ensuring the effective safeguarding of Children and Adults. The post holder will play a prominent role in working with relevant stakeholders in ensuring this.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifcations - Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health & Social Care and Children & Young People's Services or the equivalent
Desirable Qualifications - Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN)
Essential experience -
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a health and social care setting
• At least 2 years relevant experience in an operational management capacity in a health and social care setting
• Experience of working in/managing a domiciliary service
• Experience of managing an effective team
• A knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards of the service, including the need for the management and delivery of person centred services
