We have long term placement opportunities available for a Receptionist available at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust specifically providing the following
  • To meet and greet service users and visitors to the service and notify the appropriate member of staff.
  • To take responsibility for taking initial service user contact details in an outpatient setting.
  • To act as an initial point of contact and deal with telephone from internal and external contacts.
  • To process incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • To make telephone bookings as requested (for example:- clinic appointments, meeting rooms, patient/staff travel).
  • To provide responsive administrative support to the Admin Team, including duties such as copy typing, photocopying, e-mailing on behalf of the team, sending and distributing faxes, filing etc.
  • To collect information as requested, and to input into the Trust Electronic Record System in an accurate and timely manner.
  • To archive and retrieve records according to the daily needs of the service.
  • To order goods, as requested by the admin/multi-disciplinary professional team, in line with the Trust Standing Financial Instructions.
  • To actively work as part of a team in order to create working conditions conducive to providing better and fairer services to substance users, their families and the wider community.
The role is to provide an efficient and effective receptionist cover to meet the needs of the service, responding professionally and sensitively to this complex and challenging service group, and to provide administrative support to the busy administrative team.
Your working hours will be Monday to Friday 9.00 - 17.00, with a 30 minute lunch break. Will consider candidates looking for 30 hours a week.
The location for this part of the service is based close to the Orchard Industrial estate in Salford, which is easily accessed by the bus services 52 & 74/75 and also has parking available onsite or close by.
Skills/Responsibilities:

  • The ability to word process documentation
  • The ability to use one's own initiative and seek guidance where necessary
  • Good organisational skills in order to maintain efficiency
  • To be motivated to work towards creating a safe, open & trusting environment
  • To be effective and coherent oral and written communication skills
  • To have experience using Paris is a desirable skill but not essential
  • To have experience within the NHS and or Mental Health is also highly desirable but not essential
