Portfolio and Business Development Manager
We are looking for a Portfolio & Business development manager for our multinational pharma partner in Budapest to manage the whole generics portfolio in Hungary.

Scope of duties:
Drive and coordinate all portfolio related activities, including the evaluation of business development, licensing-in and licensing-out deals. Identify, analyse and implement Business development opportunities and close portfolio gaps. Develop standard processes and methodologies to analyse current and future portfolio. Support BU Heads in coordination of global processes, ad-hoc and reporting tasks.

Portfolio Management & Planning:
  • Actively researches the target market segment in order to assess all opportunities for growth.
  • Oversees marketing strategies for new portfolio pipeline in long term view, performs all business analyses.
  • Drive and coordinate all portfolio related tasks
  • Keep an overview of the short-, mid- and long term portfolio evolution
  • Have an insight into the patent expiry flow of key molecules; work with all available patent data sources and give relevant inputs to Product Managers and BU Heads
  • Coordinate and consolidate the regular review and update of portfolio 
  • Introduce and maintain a standard portfolio evaluation methodology across the local affiliate
  • Analyze the current portfolio in terms of profitability and propose action (shift of focus, pruning)
  • Coordinate all relevant inputs for global functions and manage the relevant processes and timelines for the portfolio part of the Strategic Plan

Business Development:
  • Identify portfolio gaps and analyse portfolio opportunities
  • Evaluate business development, licensing-in and licensing-out opportunities and prepare business cases for negotiation
  • Co-negotiate appropriate licensing-in and licensing-out opportunities
  • Evaluate new business ideas (e.g. low cost model; direct distribution; double pricing strategies, etc.)
  • Analyze effectiveness of current and new business activities
  • Identify and evaluate country M&A opportunities

  • University education (Medical, Pharmaceutical, Economy, Bioscience)
  • English, excellent, written and spoken
  • 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • top performer
  • proven operational experience in Marketing, Sales, Portfolio Management or Business Development
  • proven financial and analytical skills
  • proven project management knowledge
  • familiar with basic marketing principles and strategies
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • demonstrated ability as an effective team player
