We are looking for an experienced part time receptionist / telephonist to work for one of our major client, the British Embassy Budapest. The shift pattern will be from 8 am until 1pm from Monday to Friday but flexibility is essential. The role is fixed term for 12 months with a possibility to extend.

We offer a monthly gross salary of HUF 180,000-200,000 subject to negotiation and based on knowledge and experience.

The successful candidate must be fluent in English and Hungarian.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for answering and connecting all calls received through the switchboard.
  • Being the first point of contact for visitors entering the building, she or he is to provide a welcoming, courteous and polite Reception Service in accordance with approved client procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all visitors sign in and out and issued with the current badges and passes for the duration of their visit.
  • Accepting and sorting out post as required and make available for collection by colleagues.
  • Provide assistance and information for visitors.
  • Maintain a log of all visitors for the benefit of security and evacuation procedures.
  • Responsible for upkeep of MIS with local delivery performance.
  • Acting as local point of contact for receiving jobs from customers that have not gone through central helpdesk and updating MIS with job details.
  • Provide assistance and information for visitors.
  • Activities as directed by Interserve management cohesive to the overall purpose of the role.

Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Fluent in English and Hungarian orally and in writing
  • Good interpersonal and communicational skills with strong customer focus
  • Strong IT computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Office and Internet, experience with Oracle systems is preferred.
  • Able to handle and manage queries and messages from visitors, in a timely, efficient, friendly and helpful manner.
  • Previous experience in the type of role is essential
  • Able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Act in a professional manner at all times.
  • Approachable and polite at all times.
