Operations Manager
Employer: Elite Swimming Academy
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK
Salary: £18,000

Elite Swimming Academy has grown from doing just one or two lessons per week to teaching an average of 800 children and adults every and we seek an enthusiastic Operations Manager to join our Cambridge office to manage the day-to-day management of the Company, support the development of the business and lead our team of swimming teachers.

Operations Manager - Key responsibilities & duties:
• Ensure the daily running of operations and to provide on call function for teachers during hours when the office is closed.
• Oversee any recruitment of new teachers, and identify initial training and induction plan.
• Ensuring that adequate staff levels are met to cover for absences and peaks in workload, and holiday cover
• Carrying out reviews of standards and performance expected of teachers, managing any performance or people issues that arise.
• Manage the teachers and provide leadership.
• Business development activities, providing timely progress reports to the Directors.
• Ensuring company policies and local rules are adhered too and should be familiar with the policies included in the Employee handbook, the Health & Safety Policy and other Company policies.
• Business support to the management team as required.
• Liaise with all staff and suppliers to ensure targets are met.
• Management of Staff including arranging cover for teachers providing information to teachers as required, holiday management as per the Company Holiday Policy, management of appropriate audits and reviews, health and safety training and liaising with the managing Director on any employment issues or concerns.
• General office administration.
• Management of Pools.
• Business Development and growth of the services that the Elite Swimming Academy provides including expansion of the swimming pool facilities and range of lesson times that we can offer our customers in different locations.
• Marketing and PR activities including advertising campaigns, press releases, newsletters, and exhibiting at local events.
• Customer service and relations including keeping in contact with customers, authorising refunds, resolving issues promptly.
• To attend any and all relevant training as required.
• Other tasks determined by the Directors.

The successful Operations Manager will have:
• Clearance on CRB/DBS checks as we provide lessons to children
• Managerial, Team leader or Line Manager Experience is essential
• Customer service or Front of House experience is desirable
• Administration, computer and communication skills essential including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and telephone skills
• Full UK Driver's license
• The ability to build and maintain good working relationships with fellow team members and customers
• Excellent verbal communication skills are essential
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage a varied workload.
