Our Treasury & Commodity
Management team at PwC is looking for Senior Associates (a grade below Manager)
to join them to support two different aspects of their work. The first is to
help handle the growing portfolio of clients and ad hoc projects which include
due diligence, organisational reviews and benchmarking reviews. The second is
to help with the development and commercialisation of a new business modelling
and optimisation tool that will help our clients be more certain that they are
making the right business decisions in complex situations.

About the role

financial press. The risk associated with treasury and commodity
transactions and market exposures are well illustrated by high profile
corporate examples. As the financial markets become ever more
sophisticated, so have the strategies and instruments utilised by corporations.
To offer the
best service and match the increasing complexity of financial risks faced by
our corporate clients, our Treasury and Commodity Management team has developed
specialist skills to meet our client requirements. In the UK, we have the
largest concentration of expertise within the global firm and have been
recognised as the leading Corporate Treasury service provider in the country
for years.
The Treasury and Commodity
management team consists of 35 staff members and sits within our Risk Assurance
Services department. We aim to provide both Assurance services to our audit
clients as well as other advisory projects which include, among others:
• Technical accounting advice on financial instruments • Advise on trading, risk management, hedging strategies and appropriate derivative instruments • Transformation projects • Controls reviews and advisory • Commodity and treasury trading and risk management IT system selection and implementations • Involvement in transaction-related and M&A; projects • Supporting transaction services
Our client
base comprises major corporates in the UK and across Europe representing the
largest of the firms G250 clients.
Reporting Structure
The role
will report directly into a Senior Manager, Director or Partner. Typically
teams will include up to 4 people.
Essential Skills:
• External audit background • Strong communication and presentations skills • Strong financial and business analysis skills • Basic understanding of financial instruments • Adaptable and quick learner
Desirable skills:
• ACA / ACCA qualification is desirable. • Some knowledge of IAS 39/IAS 32/IFRS 7 is beneficial • Experience of working within a banking institutions/corporate treasury function or experience of energy or commodity trading or other forms of commodity management would be beneficial • Experience in using or building financial or other types of business models • Associate membership of the ACT or currently working toward this
