We are recruiting for a Lead Accountant to partner with our Siemens North West Europe (NWE) Hub companies to prepare accurate financial statements in accordance with Siemens IFRS group reporting requirements.
This is a key lead role, where you will bring your considerable expertise in Audit to Siemens. Ideally you are a qualified accountant looking for a challenging, yet rewarding role and to further develop your career working for a true Global leading organisation. Knowledge of leasing principles is an advantage for this particular opportunity. What are my responsibilities?
• To provide monthly, quarterly and annual accounting governance and service activities for our Siemens Financial Services and Electrium businesses.
• Lead P/L and Balance Sheet reviews and approval of final group reporting (ESPRIT) reports.
• Additional disclosure (ADSTAR) review and approval.
• Review of provisions and impairments.
• Reviews of customer credit ratings.
• Liaison with Global Shared Services (GSS) to maintain key control processes for the transactional accounting process.
• Liaise with Division Finance teams to ensure that accounting and reporting is in compliance with Siemens guidelines and that the financial statements are prepared accurately.
• Monitor G/L account reconciliations prepared by GSS and the business/legal entity.
• Prepare quarterly analytical reviews for Divisions and auditors.
• Ensure that changes to IFRS and Siemens accounting guidelines are implemented by the businesses/legal entities in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the formal approval and sign off of the monthly financial statements including P&L;, B/S and CF.
• To be the main point of contact for the quarterly and annual external audits. To co-ordinate and manage the audit process to ensure that all information is provided and that timelines are adhered to.
• Review the business- related provisions and accruals raised by the Divisions and ensure these comply with Siemens guidelines.
• Review the impairment tests of tangible and intangible assets
• Check that customer credit ratings that are being set by the Divisions are reasonable and comply with Siemens credit guidelines and resolve matters escalated to the NWE Hub.
• Preparation of UK legal entities statutory accounts.
• Responsible for the completion of SOX and internal control tests on behalf of allocated businesses and in line with the Siemens internal control framework.
• Coaching of other Accountants relevant to the legal entity.
• Prepare and review exceptional journal entries for monthly closings and ensure these are posted timely; provide support to Division teams that need documentation for their auditors.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
• Strong knowledge of the financial service industry and leasing concepts.
• Strong statutory account preparation experience.
• Strong working knowledge of IFRS and SOX requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of accounting practice and auditing experience.
• IT literate, capable in Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP/ Spiridon, ESPRIT and K-Trinity.
• Demonstrate potential for staff supervision / coaching.
