PwC's licensing management team assist clients ensure they are compliant with software license agreements like this and others. Our global team of licensing professionals work with multinational companies on a range of licensing issues such as Software Asset Management ("SAM"), Software licensing compliance and audit defence. We also help clients identify cost savings by managing their software assets more efficiently and through control and process enhancements.
Our team has significantly increased over the last 12 months and we have ambitious growth plans aiming for continuous expansion. We are therefore recruiting an enthusiastic and motivated manager to help us deliver these growth plans.
About the role
As a Manager working within the Licensing Management team, you will be responsible for the day to day oversight, delivery and management of a number of individuals who are completing licensing compliance programmes for multi-national software vendors.
This is an exciting but challenging, fast paced role which requires agility and flexibility. The role provides you with great opportunity to build and leverage strong relationships with clients and colleagues. Assuming ownership for your team, you will also be required to ensure talent is harnessed within the team through regularly coaching and support.
More specifically, as an experienced manager, you will typically be expected to:
• Manage the delivery of a number of license compliance programmes, providing the license compliance team with direction, oversight and support;
• Regularly manage stakeholders, specially software vendors and their customers in relation to the delivery of license compliance programmes;
• Work with multi-national customers to understand and validate the deployment of software (including the completeness of software deployments) and reconcile this to license entitlement;
• Identify opportunities process and control enhancement;
• Assess license requirements versus pre-agreed license arrangements (license entitlement); and relevant cost implications; and
• Liaise with global PwC license compliance teams, together with global software vendor teams.
Essential skills
• Strong knowledge relevant to enterprise / server estate configuration;
• Technical understanding of IT networks which allow you to work with customers, understanding use of licensed software and where the software may be deployed;
• Strong analytical skills using Microsoft Excel or other software tools;
• Proven project management experience, especially volume delivery programmes with tight timescales and budgets;
• Demonstrable experience maintaining responsibility for client delivery work, with a focus on directing and quality reviewing the detailed fieldwork of team members;
• Proven team leadership experience, with the ability to nurture, coach, motivate and support team members;
• Strong client engagement and relationship building with equally strong communication skills (verbal & written).
Desirable skills
• Degree in IT or Business related discipline;
• Knowledge of license models for major publishers (e.g. Oracle, SAP, IBM, Microsoft);
• Previous experience dealing with software license agreements on a regular basis;
• Technical understanding of use of scan tools to manage software deployment;
• Understanding of Licensing, maintenance and support elements of agreements; and
• Stakeholder engagement experience, focusing on the engagement between PwC, our clients and their end customers
