Requisition Number: 050766 Job Description: Northern Trust is seeking an internal communications specialist to manage and enhance internal communications at Northern Trust. Forming part of an energetic and friendly global Corporate Marketing and Communications team the candidate will deliver internal communications across all business lines and office locations within Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Working closely alongside digital marketing, creative services, media relations, community affairs and events, this role seeks an excellent communicator and relationship builder with outstanding written skills. The role will suit someone looking to work in a corporate communications function across a variety of internal and external channels in multiple geographies with multiple languages and cultures. This candidate should have an interest in financial and institutional services, as well a passion for communications and appreciation of the broader media and social media landscape. The candidate should be flexible, open to new challenges and able to work in a deadline-driven environment. Knowledge/Skills:
    • Direct experience of building and implementing highly successful internal communications and marketing strategies from development through to individual value propositions
    • Experience in the communications and/or media industry
    • Proven written skills and able to write communications under pressure
    • Excellent client relationship skills and ability to build relationships and networks
    • Comfortable working with senior management with a proven ability to develop creative solutions and strategies to achieve business objectives
    • Attention to detail and a passion for excellence
    • Team player and an ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people whilst also managing projects individually working within a flexible environment
    • Social media savvy
    • Outstanding organisational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously
    • An interest in financial services
    • A university or higher education degree and/or professional qualification is preferable.
    Major Duties:
      • Research and write first drafts of
      • internal communications and managing associated approvals processes
      • Develop and deliver innovative and creative internal communications campaigns in a budget constrained business environment
      • Build internal and external relationships and networks
      • Prepare presentations and slides for both internal and external presentations
      • Support incident/crisis and business continuity communications as required
      • Take responsibility for internal media, social media, including internal newsletters
      • Support business related requests for messaging, talking points and interview briefing documents
      • Assist with the delivery of internal employee engagement events
      • Liaise with all internal departments, including marketing, digital marketing, community affairs, creative services and event management.
