The Indirect Tax Manager plays a key role in the operations of the end-to-end indirect tax process.
He/she supports and acts as a back-up for the Head of Indirect Tax in the identification and resolution of operational and managerial issues arising from the process.
He/she has 2 direct reports.
He/she ensures that roles and responsibilities for the team are agreed and documented.
Ensures that all statutory returns – including settlement – for the assigned markets are completed accurately, efficiently and on time.
Facilitates collation, organisation and provision of information to tax authorities for audits and ensures timely resolution, maintains prompt and helpful service to tax authorities to develop constructive relationship.
Contributes ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the indirect tax process.
Supports the Head of Indirect Tax in strategic projects and in coordination of daily operational work within the team.
Solves operational issues with the markets.
Proactively suggests improvements/ additional control points to build in and takes an active part in the implementation and in the follow up.
Collects and prepares all the overall information needed for the Head of Indirect Tax (e.g. KPIs, daily checks, GBU, issue log) and keeps them updated.
Masters degree in finance-related field
At least 4-6 years experience as an indirect tax expert/manager
Attention to detail and overview of the business: able to operate at the detail level when necessary but also focuses on the big picture.
Customer relationship / business partnering skills: able to build and maintain excellent relationship with tax authorities and in-market finance teams.
People management experience.
Project management experience.
Experience in working in a multinational financial position, within different commercial / cultural markets.
Fluency in English.
