Sales Engineer

Position: Rental Sales Engineer 

Reports to: Rental Business Development Manager

Based in: Budapest or suburbs 

Responsible for: whole Hungary 

Role summary: The aim of the role is to develop trusting customer relationships and maximize account share and customer retention as well as deliver technical solutions to the customers base on their needs and Trane rental offer.


• Achieve assigned sales and customer development quota through focus on customer acquisition and development on rental services as well as through sales engineers and service technicians 

• Market validation in terms of equipment rental services and building a customer database 

• Develop the best total solution to the customer, tailored to the current needs of the client, based on the existing equipment rental offer 

• Develop and strengthen relationships with customers through regular customer visits 

• identify new leads together with sales engineers (EQ and SSE), develop their RENTAL sales skills to identify RENTAL opportunities, cooperating with them 

• Encourage customer growth and loyalty through continuous support and customer assistance 

• Prepare offers for customers based on the company price lists and RENTAL procedures 

• Do the site audit to be able to deliver the best (fast, cost & energy efficient) technical support and solution for the customer with the support of the lead rental tech coordinator 

• Coordinate and manage work of subcontractors & logistics of rental units’ cooperation with RENTAL technicians, and RENTAL stockkeeper 

• Train and support of Sales Engineers and service technicians in the offer and sale of rental services 

• Conduct marketing campaigns (cold calls), including the implementation of HQ activities (develop and help in the ongoing google campaigns (e.g., wineries, heating, cold stores) 

• Properly maintain and timely update all internal systems, including customer database, opportunity pipeline, etc. 

• keep the contact with the HQ Rental management team 

• manage the RENTAL unit’s logistics to and from costumers and other TRANE offices 

• Regularly report key metrics to the management 

• Keep updated on product and technology changes

Candidate profile: 

• Technical University Degree – Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 

• Experience in technical sales or project management with a mindset to sell, preferably in cooling or heating solutions 

• HVAC system and installation knowledge, preferable HVAC project management skills

• Strong communication and influencing skills, along with high integrity and capacity to deal with changing priorities. 

• Customer oriented 

• Well-organized and able to handle several different projects and task simultaneously 

• Communicative level of English 

• Computer literacy 

• Active driving license
