This Lead Geologist position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities and expectations, requiring a strong skill set in reservoir characterization, model building and an effective communicator who drives projects to decision making.

Scope of the position:
As Lead Geologist within the organization, the primary focus is on subsurface studies, geomodelling, and independent contribution to projects. Working closely with integrated Subsurface Teams, leading small projects, conducting stand-alone assessments, and collaborating with operations staff and JV partners are key aspects of this role. The Lead Geologist is tasked with utilizing a broad knowledge of geological principles and practices to define and develop reserves and resources for the company.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- Conducting complex geological studies with hands-on model building
- Managing data quality and integrity through validation processes.
- Collaborating effectively with subsurface team members to develop robust geological interpretations.
- Evaluating new opportunities in business development as well as in our operated and non-operated countries.
- Preparing drilling proposals and planning programs effectively.
- Assisting in supervising and reviewing contractors' work for quality control.
- Contributing to budget preparation
- Act as peer reviewer
- Proactively identifying and resolving issues within projects.
- Mentoring junior staff to ensure excellence in Reservoir Geology practices.
- Additional responsibilities may include: acting as an assurance lead, influencing as a non-operating partner representative, leading and coordinating smaller integrated projects, and actively contributing to discipline leadership.
Requirements:
- Required to have a Master's Degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience.
- Need for international cooperation and operation skills.
- Technical proficiency aligned with our internal job competency matrix
- Skilled in field development planning, static model building, uncertainty analysis, and proactive technical communication.
- Experience in both siliciclastic and carbonate environments, translating geological insights into practical field development decisions.
