What will your daily work look like

Development and design of safe, lightweight and high integrity Energy Storage System products and its components from requirements elicitation, concept trade studies, design and analysis, and demonstration prototypes through to initial production.

Design and 3d modelling of mechanical components and assemblies including structural parts, heat sinks, insulation systems, high voltage connectors, fasteners, and other components.

Design electronics packaging that considers electrical isolation, sealing, thermal management, interconnection, shock and vibration management, electromagnetic interference (EMI), RF communications, etc.

Support mechanical integration of electrical components (e.g., PCBs, fuses, contactors)

Liase with suppliers and customers to determine optimal, commercially viable solutions.

Support product integration into the overall RRE power system and customer platform.

Ensure that all IP is captured, and designs are free from 3rd party IP.

Define and compile the technical evidence required for the product safety case and certification process.

Work with global team members within the Energy Storage Design community to share knowledge and develop common design standards and practices.

Identify new R&T opportunities and contribute to electrical research activities at our University Technology Centres in the UK and associated external research activities in the US, Norway and Singapore.

What do you need to succeed?

University degree (Mechanical Engineering or related)

5+ years of experience in designing battery systems used in automotive or aviation industry

Strong intermediate English knowledge
