By joining our International Assignment Services team you will be
involved in:
strategic consulting advice: Designing and implementing international
assignment strategies and policies that align our clients business objectives
to their overall business strategy.
technical advice: Providing cross-border tax and social security advice to
global organizations and their assignees on how their personal and corporate
position is affected by the complexity of their international assignments.
the provision of expatriate compliance services - you will be responsible for
working in partnership with our Expatriate Compliance Group to ensure that our
clients are meeting their income tax, social security and payroll withholding
obligations around the world.
multi disciplinary consulting advice to our clients through working with
colleagues in our Reward, Employment Solutions, Pension, HR Technology,
Immigration and HR Transformation teams
Helping to develop junior team members - through
the formal role as a People Manager and/or through on the job guidance and
assistance within your client team.
About the role
The role is tremendously varied. At
one level, you could be helping the HR director of a large multinational put in
place a company policy for dealing with internationally mobile staff, or
helping them put in place a global employee incentive program which is tax
efficient in all the countries in which the company operates
At another level, you might be asked to give some personal tax advice to an
employee who is being asked to relocate by his current employer in the UK, or
helping an employee move from another country to work in the UK. We deal with
thousands of these types of cases every year – each one different, and each one
offering a new challenge and a chance to grow your knowledge We help our
clients move their employees around the world in the most efficient manner
You need excellent client handling and communication skills. Our clients expect
a seamless global service: most of our engagements are global engagements so
you will be working as part of a global team not just a team in the UK. You
will need to work closely with PwC colleagues from around the globe. This means
that you will need to acquire skills in managing people from different cultures
and backgrounds.
The role will be client facing from day one and you will typically be expected
to start building relationships with client HR and finance teams from a very
early stage. You will be dealing with HR and finance managers as well as senior
executives and employees.
Requirements for the
role include;
• Professional Accounting / Tax qualification with UK expatriate tax experience. • Experience of working in an international assignment services team either within a boutique tax firm, accountancy firm or in house. • Experience of building and maintaining relationship with clients and provide high levels of client service • Experience of managing the successful delivery of projects, ensuring technical excellence.
