Heath & Social Care Apprenticeship
SALARY: £120- £150 per week
HOURS: 36 hours per week (inclusive of one day a week at college)
Contract Length: 12 months

In order to apply for this programme you should:
• Be a resident of the Borough of Enfield • Be aged 16-24 • Currently not be in education or employment or training • Be willing and able to study at NVQ Level 2 • Ideally have achieved GCSE grades A* - D or equivalent in Maths and English (alternatively you must pass an assessment) • Be motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated to achieving results and high standards • Not have a degree level qualification

The opportunity to work in a least 2 Social Care fields

The opportunity to gain recognised qualifications as follows: • Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care • Level 2 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care • Employment Responsibilities and Rights • *Key Skills / Functional Skills Level 1 Application of Number • *Key Skills / Functional Skills Level 1 Communications

*Key Skills - If you have recently achieved GCSEs at grades A*- D, you may receive some exemptions.

This 12 month apprenticeship is managed by Enfield Council. Apprentices will either be based within a council service or with an external organisation.

Duties could include: • Shadowing a support worker • Carrying out duties which encourage service users independence • Protect the rights and promote the interests of service users and carers. • Building and maintain the trust and confidence of service users • Building relationship and maintain the trust and confidence of service users and carers. • Ensuring service users are safe and free from danger or harm • Provide support for Service users activities • Respect the rights of service users while seeking to ensure that their behaviour does not harm themselves or other people. • Be accountable for the quality of your work and take responsibility for maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills.

Future Prospects

On completion of your apprenticeship you could consider going on to an Advanced level qualification or secure employment in the following type roles.

Care Worker / Assistant, Key Worker in domiciliary care, Relief Team Worker, Personal Assistant, Substance Misuse Worker, Mental Health Support Worker, Home Care Support Worker, Nursing Assistant, Support Services

For this apprenticeship you will need: • Good literacy and numeracy skills • Strong communication skills • Self-motivated and proactive • Ability to be organised to plan and meet college and work deadlines • Able to take direction, follow instructions and learn and retain new skills • To be a flexible and adaptable team player • Ability to be sensitive and caring of the needs of others • Awareness of Health and Social CareLink megjelenítése" width="0" height="0" />
