PwC's Licensing Management practice provides services globally through our global team of licensing professionals.
Our services include working with organisations on a variety of matters relating to Software and IT Asset Management (SAM/ITAM), including audit defence, pro-active analysis of license compliance positions, SAM maturity, identification of cost saving through efficiency in managing software assets and enhancement of policies, process and controls. In addition, we work with a number software publishers and technologies regarding assessment of channel partners and license compliance. In order to achieve our growth plans, we are looking to recruit Associates.
Your skills will need to include:
• Awareness of 'Best Practice' Strategies and methodologies around ITAM/SAM; • Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude; • Strong desire to learn and willingness to share knowledge; • Ability to work independently with little supervision, but integrate well into teams; • Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under tight deadlines; • Exceptional communication and presentation skills; • Previous experience in a SAM/ITAM related role is highly desirable; and • Relevant degree in Technical or Information Systems related subject is highly desirable.
About the role
As an Associate working within the IT Asset Management practice, part of your role will be to work on Strategic projects focusing on Software License Management, Software Reconciliation and IT Process Management and Controls.
You will need to be capable of building strong relationships with clients, identifying risk and executing the delivery of those projects within given budgets and timeframes. You will regularly report to Managers, Senior Managers and your clients, providing clear and concise details of progress and findings.
You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to operational roles within our business unit and to gain expertise in understanding Software Licensing, Technologies and Processes.
Previous experience in a related role is highly desirable, and candidates should have a background in a relevant technical / analytical degree subject, but training will be given to candidates who show relevant aptitude.
The ITAM practise is a growing division within PwC and there will be significant opportunities for career progression for high performers.
Specific project responsibilities will include:
• Advise on implementation of Best Practice strategies to mitigate corporate risk and identify cost optimisation opportunities; • Assist customers in understanding and making effective use of software solutions; • Analyse and interpret Software Licensing Agreements; • Analyse and interpret Procurement, Contract, Entitlement and other Organizational data; and • Use ITAM/SAM software technologies to interpret and configure data.

• Some understanding of server estate configuration; • Some understanding of networks which would allow the individual to understand use of licensed software and where the software may be deployed; • Communication skills (Verbal, Written and Presentation); • Advanced analytical skills using Excel or other software tools; and • Good time management and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of license models for at least one major publisher–(e.g. Oracle, SAP, IBM, Microsoft); • Understanding of the use of ITAM/SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow, Tivoli, HPUD; • Understanding of Licensing, maintenance and support elements of agreements; and • Database interrogation to extract or query data, e.g. SQL, Oracle or DB2.
